Day 1. (Thursday) SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
¡Ola! Welcome to Galicia, welcome to Santiago de Compostela, a city whose old town is a World Heritage Site, one of the most important monumental centres in Spain, one of the sacred cities of Christianity and the end of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route. For travellers who are returning after having completed the Camino de Santiago, we recommend taking the day to rest and regain strength for the coming days. For other travellers, we recommend leaving their bags at the hotel and going out on foot to explore this ancient city, to enjoy an unforgettable experience full of history, culture and gastronomy. You can visit the Obradoiro Square, the point where all the routes to Santiago converge, where you will find the symbol of the city, the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela dedicated to the Apostle Santiago the Greater, one of the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ and brother of John the Evangelist. In the same square you will find other historic buildings, such as the Raxoi Palace and the Hostel of the Catholic Kings, an old hospital converted into a historic hotel. You can also stroll through the narrow cobbled streets full of medieval charm that make up the Old Town of Santiago. Places such as Rúa do Franco and Rúa do Vilar are full of shops, bookshops and traditional restaurants. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
