Itinerary of the coach holiday to Morocco:
Day 1. (Tuesday) BARCELONA – MALAGA
Your grand odyssey begins at Barcelona-Sants Station, where you board the high-speed AVE train for a spectacular journey across the heart of Spain. Relax in the comfort of your seat as you traverse the diverse landscapes of Catalonia, Aragon, and the golden plains of Andalusia at speeds of up to 190 mph. This seamless rail experience allows you to witness the changing scenery of the Iberian Peninsula in just a few hours. Upon arrival in Malaga, the vibrant capital of the Costa del Sol, you will transfer to your hotel and enjoy a free afternoon to explore the hometown of world-renowned artist Pablo Picasso and Hollywood star Antonio Banderas. We recommend a stroll through the historic quarter to discover the Alcazaba, one of the most impressive Arab fortresses in Andalusia, and the Gibralfaro Castle, which offers breathtaking panoramic views over the Mediterranean. Don’t miss the Picasso Museum or the magnificent Renaissance Cathedral of Malaga, affectionately known as La Manquita (the one-armed lady) due to its unique unfinished tower. Overnight in Malaga.
Day 2. (Wednesday) MALAGA – TANGIER – ASSILAH – RABAT
Today we’ll have to get up early, as a long but exciting day awaits us. We begin our trans-continental journey to Morocco with a scenic drive along the picturesque Costa del Sol, passing through the internationally renowned hubs of Marbella and Puerto Banús, where luxury yachts and Mediterranean elegance set the stage for our journey. We arrive at the southern tip of Europe. At the port of Tarifa or Algeciras, you will board a ferry for a scenic crossing of the Strait of Gibraltar. Feel the anticipation build as the silhouette of Africa rises from the Mediterranean horizon. After disembarking in Tangier and completing customs formalities, our private coach awaits to lead us further into the magic of Morocco. Our first Moroccan stop is the coastal gem of Asilah. Enjoy free time for lunch and an afternoon stroll through one of the country’s most pristine medinas. Enclosed by centuries-old Portuguese ramparts, Asilah is a sanctuary of whitewashed walls, vibrant blue doors, and world-class street art that adorns its peaceful, cobblestone alleys. Finally, we continue to Rabat, the diplomatic and administrative heart of the Kingdom and the official residence of King Mohamed VI. This historic capital seamlessly blends ancient monuments with modern elegance. Upon arrival at the hotel, enjoy time at your leisure to relax before dinner. Dinner and overnight stay in Rabat.
Day 3. (Thursday) RABAT – FEZ
Following breakfast, we join an expert local guide for an illuminating tour of Rabat. We begin with a view of the majestic Royal Palace (Dar al-Makhzen), the King’s official residence, before visiting the expansive Esplanade of Yacoub al-Mansour. Here, you will discover the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a masterpiece of Alawite architecture distinguished by its brilliant white silhouette and iconic green-tiled roof. Standing proudly nearby is the Hassan Tower, the legendary 12th-century minaret that has become the enduring symbol of the city. Our journey then leads us inland to Fez, the oldest of Morocco’s Imperial Cities and the spiritual heart of the kingdom. Often compared to ancient Jerusalem, Fez is home to the best-preserved walled city in the Arab world. Upon arrival, we enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch in a local restaurant before diving into the city’s rich heritage. Our guided exploration of Fez reveals the Seven Golden Gates of the Royal Palace, the historic Mellah (Jewish Quarter), and the monumental Bab Bou Jeloud Gate, the blue-tiled entrance to the ancient Medina. We will lose ourselves in the vibrant energy of the souks, witness the ancient techniques of the Tanner’s Quarter, and admire the Al-Qarawiyyin University, the oldest continuously operating university in the world, alongside the stunning Medersa and Mosque. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure. We recommend a quiet stroll through the labyrinthine Fes el-Bali, a living monument of over 9,000 winding streets. As evening falls, you have the option to experience an enchanting Moroccan dinner and traditional show in a historic palatial restaurant. Accommodation in Fez.
Day 4. (Friday) FEZ – CHAOUEN – TANGIER
After breakfast, we depart for the coast, pausing to discover the enchanting mountain city of Chefchaouen. Nestled at 660 metres above sea level, this charming sanctuary offers a breath of fresh, mountain air and a serene, pedestrian-friendly atmosphere that invites immediate relaxation. Commonly known as the Blue Pearl, Chefchaouen is world-famous for the dazzling sapphire and turquoise hues of its buildings. Enjoy free time at your leisure to explore its most emblematic corners: wander through the ancient Medina, admire the Great Mosque and the historic Alcazaba Fortress, or stroll through the Mellah. The heart of the city, Uta el-Hammam Square, offers a special charm with its vibrant cafés and restaurants, the perfect place to soak in the local rhythm. Following lunch, we resume our journey to Tangier, the historic Capital of the Strait. Positioned at the strategic gateway between Europe and Africa, this cosmopolitan city has been coveted by empires for millennia. Experience the unique energy where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean as we arrive at our hotel. After check-in, enjoy time to relax before a final Moroccan dinner. Dinner and overnight stay in Tangier.
Day 5. (Saturday) TANGIER – MALAGA
After enjoying a final Moroccan breakfast, we head to the port, to board the ferry for our crossing across the Strait of Gibraltar, an iconic voyage that serves as the bridge between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. Once back on Spanish soil, we travel along the sun-drenched Costa del Sol towards Malaga. Arrival at the hotel. You will have the remainder of the afternoon at your leisure to relax, take a seaside stroll, or explore the local atmosphere of your resort. We highly recommend immersing yourself in the local culture with some Tapa-hopping, an unbeatable way to experience the heart of Andalusia. Tapas are an exquisite and varied example of popular gastronomy, allowing you to share a wide range of authentic flavors in the city’s lively bars and taverns for a truly social and delicious farewell to the coast. Overnight stay in Malaga.
Day 6. (Sunday) MALAGA – BARCELONA
On your final morning in Andalusia, take the opportunity to savor the relaxed Mediterranean pace of Málaga. Whether you choose to visit the Roman Theatre, climb the walls of the Alcazaba for a final sea view, or browse the elegant boutiques of Calle Larios for last-minute souvenirs and artisanal crafts, the city offers a perfect farewell. At the appointed hour, you will make your own way to the María Zambrano Station to board the high-speed AVE train for your return to Barcelona. Settle into the spacious comfort of your seat and enjoy a sophisticated travel experience. As the train glides silently through the rugged landscapes of the Antequera mountains and the vast, silver-green olive groves of Andalusia, you can watch the scenery transform into the golden plains of Castile at speeds of up to 190 mph. Your journey concludes upon arrival at Barcelona-Sants Station. End of our services.
