Day 1. (Saturday) COSTA DEL SOL – ALGECIRAS – TANGIER – RABAT
Departure from the Costa del Sol towards Tarifa and boarding towards Tangier crossing the Strait of Gibraltar. Upon arrival, presentation of our guide and then we continue towards Larache, a picturesque port city located on the Moroccan Atlantic Coast, on the left bank of the Lucus River estuary, with white walls houses and light blue carpentry. You will enjoy free time for lunch. We continue the trip to Rabat, diplomatic and administrative capital of Morocco, official residence of King Mohamed VI. Arrival at the hotel, dinner and accommodation.
Day 2. (Sunday) RABAT – CASABLANCA – MARRAKECH
After breakfast, we take a guided tour of Rabat, seeing from the outside the Royal Palace of Rabat (Dar al-Makhzen), the official residence of the King of Morocco, then we will go to the esplanade of Yacoub al-Mansour to discover the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a masterpiece of architecture from the Alawite dynasty, with its white silhouette, crowned by a typical green tile roof. In front of the Mausoleum, we will discover the Hassan Tower, a minaret of an incomplete mosque that has become the symbol of the city. We continue our route to neighbouring Casablanca, the largest city, economic capital and which represents the modern face of today’s Morocco. We will take a sightseeing tour of Casablanca to discover the attractions of this beautiful city, such as Anfa Boulevard, the Nations Square, we will visit from the outside the impressive Hassan II Mosque, a showcase of the best Moroccan craftsmanship, the symbol of the city of Casablanca, only surpassed by Mecca in importance and size. After the visit, we will enjoy a little free time. We continue the route towards the south of Morocco, heading to Marrakech, the city that gave its name to the country, a fascinating and mysterious city where Europe, Africa and the Middle East mix and merge. Arrival at the hotel, dinner and accommodation.
Day 3. (Monday) MARRAKECH
After breakfast, we will take an incredible guided tour of Marrakech. Our first point of interest will be the beautiful Menara Gardens, with its large pond where the high peaks of the Atlas Mountains are reflected. Next we will see from the outside the Koutobia minaret, we visit the Bahia Palace, one of the most impressive places in the city, we will walk through the colourful Medina and its souks, and we will end in the magical Djemaa El Fna square, symbol of Morocco, full of fortune-tellers, snake charmers, acrobats, dancers, all this makes the city centre an open-air theatre that requires the participation of the audience. Don’t forget your camera. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight. Optionally, you can enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and a horse show that includes odalisques, flying carpets and fireworks in an atmosphere that recreates the Thousand and One Nights.
Day 4. (Tuesday) MARRAKECH – AÏT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE
After breakfast, we will depart towards the desert. We leave the city behind and enter nature, tranquillity and silence that floods the soul with peace and calm. We cross the winding road that crosses the Tizi n’Tichka, the highest road pass in North Africa (2,260m) that connects Marrakech with the pre-Saharan oases and where we will have several stops to enjoy the wonderful panoramic views. We continue towards Ouarzazate. First stop to see the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortress considered the most beautiful in the country and a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and where famous films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, The Jewel of the Nile or Gladiator have been filmed. Arrival at the hotel, free time, dinner and accommodation.
Day 5. (Wednesday) OUARZAZATE – BOUMALNE DE DADES – TINGHIR (TODRA) – ERFOUD
After breakfast, we leave for Tinghir. En route we will discover a spectacular landscape in which the desert and the mountains meet, combining all the shades of ochre and red, the rivers create gorges that transform into fertile valleys or oases with green palm groves. Here from the most arid and rocky area overflows fertility and greenery among the oases. The route runs through the Rose Valley where Kelaa M’Gouna is located, a fortified town famous for its rose water distillery and the Dades Gorge, an impressive gorge until reaching Boumalne du Dades, already in Berber territory. Arrival in Tinghir, an imposing city located in the Todra Oasis. We will discover the Todra Gorges and its impressive 300-meter-high gorge. Lunch en route (optional) and we continue to Erfoud, land of fossils and juicy dates. Free afternoon at your disposal, dinner and accommodation at the hotel. Optionally, you can take some excursions to the Erg Chebbi Dunes in Merzouga (4×4 and camel route, as well as the possibility of sleeping in nomadic tents, in the middle of the desert – excursions to be booked at the destination with the guide).
Day 6. (Thursday) ERFOUD – ER-RACHIDIA – MIDELT – FEZ
After breakfast, we will say goodbye to the South of Morocco, travelling towards the Middle Atlas. We will tour the Ziz River Valley, among endless palm groves and buildings made of mud and straw, passing through Errachidia, the ancient city of Ksar es-Souk and Midelt, an important regional centre located between the Middle Atlas and the Great Atlas. Today we will cross the Middle Atlas and experience a new change of landscape along the way. We leave the South to enter the North through high mountain landscapes and almost perpetual snow, the heat of the desert and the snow of this place being an incredible contrast in just a few kilometres. In the afternoon, arrival in Fez. Room distribution upon arrival, dinner and accommodation.
Day 7. (Friday) FEZ
Breakfast. In the morning we will visit Fez, the oldest and most monumental of the Imperial Cities to discover the most interesting places of this wonderful city: the 7 gates of the Royal Palace, the Jewish Quarter or Mellah, Bab Bou Jeloud gate that gives access to the Medina. We continue with a walk through its magnificent Medina or ancient city, declared a World Heritage Site, we will visit the Medersa, one of the main schools of the Koranic religion in Morocco, its Al Karaouine Mosque, one of the largest architectural complexes in Fez known for housing the oldest university in the world, and later we will discover the famous tanners’ neighbourhood, with its countless pits full of natural dyes that make up a colourful landscape. Free afternoon to peacefully enjoy the extensive and labyrinthine Medina of Fes el-Bali, made up of more than 9,000 alleys, the best preserved Medina in the Arab world and the largest living monument in all of Morocco, having the possibility of experiencing a return to the past in this part of the city that still lives close to the Middle Ages. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 8. (Saturday) FEZ – TANGIER – COSTA DEL SOL
Breakfast and departure to Tangier, the Moroccan capital of the Strait of Gibraltar, a cosmopolitan city that has always been coveted by many civilizations due to its strategic location, at the main gateway between Europe and Africa. Arrival at the port of Tangier and take the ferry to return to Spain through the Strait of Gibraltar. Transfer to points of origin. Farewell to our staff and end of our services.
