Itinerary of the coach tour to Morocco from Malaga:
Day 1. (Sunday) COSTA DEL SOL – TANGIER
Multiple Departure Points: Start your journey to the North of Africa from your local area. We begin our trans-continental journey to Morocco early in the morning, with a scenic drive along the picturesque Costa del Sol, passing through the internationally renowned hubs of Marbella and Puerto Banús, where luxury yachts and Mediterranean elegance set the stage for our journey. We arrive at the southern tip of Europe. At the port of Tarifa or Algeciras, you will board a ferry for a scenic crossing of the Strait of Gibraltar. Feel the anticipation build as the silhouette of Africa rises from the Mediterranean horizon. Upon arrival, you will meet our local guide. We will embark on a beautiful excursion to Cape Spartel, the northwesternmost point of Africa, the exact spot where the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea meet the deep blue of the Atlantic Ocean. Free time to admire this stunning location and photograph the imposing lighthouse, built in the mid-19th century, the first in the Moroccan coastal maritime signaling network. A short distance away, we’ll find the Caves of Hercules, breathtaking natural caves where, according to legend, the mythological hero rested after separating Europe from Africa. You’ll have free time to admire the site and, if you wish, enter the caves to see the famous Gate of Africa, an opening in the rock whose shape resembles an inverted map of the African continent, with the sea crashing inside. We will return to Tangier, the city that has inspired artists, spies, and writers for decades. You will have the afternoon free to immerse yourself in its cosmopolitan atmosphere. We recommend strolling through the Kasbah of Tangier, exploring its blue and white-painted alleyways and its souks. Here, our senses are heightened: sounds, smells, and narrow streets that transport us back in time. Optionally, your guide will offer you the possibility of visiting Tetouan, the most authentic city in Northern Morocco, known as the White Dove. We will see points of interest such as Moullay El Mehdi Square and the Spanish Quarter, leading to Hassan II Square, where the Royal Palace is located. We will continue through the Luneta district and the Jewish Quarter. A stroll through the Medina of Tetouan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a jewel of Muslim culture, with its winding streets, charming squares, long, narrow alleyways, hidden corners, and grand gates that pique the visitor’s curiosity… culminating at Bab Okla, or the Queen’s Gate. Return to Tangier, dinner, and overnight stay at the hotel. NOTE: Pick-Up Location Selection: During the booking process, you will be able to select your preferred departure point. We offer convenient pick-up services across the Costa del Sol, including Málaga, Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Marbella, Estepona, Algeciras, and Tarifa.
Day 2. (Monday) TANGIER – VOLUBILIS – MEKNES – FEZ
After a traditional Moroccan breakfast, we journey south through the ancient lands of Mauretania Tingitana, once one of the most exotic provinces of the Roman Empire. Our first destination is Volubilis (Walili), a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most significant Roman archaeological centers in North Africa. We will stroll along the Decumanus Maximus, the city’s ancient main thoroughfare, to admire the monumental Tangier Gate, the grand Triumphal Arch of Marcus Aurelius, and the remarkably preserved mosaics adorning the floors of its noble villas. Our route continues to the Imperial City of Meknes, a 17th-century marvel nestled in the Middle Atlas Mountains and shielded by 40 km of defensive walls. During our panoramic tour of Meknes, we will witness the breathtaking Bab Al Mansour, widely celebrated as the most beautiful gate in all of Morocco and the majestic entrance to the old city. Finally, we travel toward Fez, the oldest of the four Imperial Cities and the spiritual heart of the kingdom. Often compared to Jerusalem for its ancient, walled atmosphere and labyrinthine streets, Fez offers a step back into medieval history. Dinner and accommodation in Fez.
Day 3. (Tuesday) FEZ
After breakfast, we embark on a comprehensive monumental tour of Fez, the oldest of the Imperial Cities. Our exploration begins with the seven golden gates of the Royal Palace and the historic Mellah (Jewish Quarter). We then enter the soul of the city through the iconic Bab Bou Jeloud gate, the gateway to the world-famous Fez el-Bali Medina. Accompanied by our local English-speaking guide, we will navigate a labyrinth of over 9,000 winding streets, the largest and best-preserved medieval city in the Arab world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During our walk, we will visit the ancient tanneries, where traditional techniques remain unchanged for centuries, and admire the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University, recognized as the oldest degree-granting university in the world. Following lunch at the hotel, the afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure. If you are looking for what to do in Fez, we suggest getting lost in the sensory delights of its souks, where artisans create intricate crafts. In the evening, you will have the optional opportunity to enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and folklore show in a local palace. Accommodation in Fez.
Day 4. (Wednesday) FEZ – CASABLANCA – MARRAKECH
After breakfast, we travel west toward the Atlantic Coast, arriving in Casablanca, the largest city and the modern face of contemporary Morocco. Our brief sightseeing tour of Casablanca will take you through the city’s main highlights, including the vibrant Anfa Boulevard and the bustling Nations Square. We will then stop for an exterior visit to the iconic Hassan II Mosque. As a masterpiece of Moroccan craftsmanship and a landmark surpassed in size only by the Great Mosque of Mecca, its beauty is truly breathtaking. You will have free time to enjoy the mosque’s exterior architecture and capture the perfect photos, or you may choose to join an optional interior tour (available as an extra activity). Afterward, we enjoy some free time for lunch in the city before continuing our journey inland. The drive toward Marrakech is a journey through Morocco’s soul. As we leave the coast behind, the landscape shifts from lush agricultural plains to the rugged, sun-drenched horizons of the Haouz Plain, punctuated by traditional Berber villages and groves of ancient olive and orange trees, all backdropped by the distant, snow-capped peaks of the High Atlas Mountains. As we approach, the ochre-colored walls of Marrakech emerge like a mirage from the dust. Known as the Red City, Marrakech is a mesmerizing intersection where Europe, Africa, and the Middle East collide. Its atmosphere is charged with a blend of ancient mystery and vibrant energy, where the scent of exotic spices fills the air and the rhythmic sounds of the medina beckon. Dinner and accommodation in Marrakech.
Day 5. (Thursday) MARRAKECH
After breakfast, we immerse ourselves in the vibrant soul of the city with a guided tour of Marrakech. Our exploration begins with the iconic Koutoubia Minaret, a masterpiece of Almohad architecture that stands as the city’s most recognizable landmark. We continue to the Bahia Palace, a true masterpiece of Moroccan architectural artistry that showcases the finest Moroccan tilework, cedarwood, and stucco artistry. We will then weave through the bustling Medina of Marrakech and its kaleidoscopic souks, where the air is filled with the scent of exotic spices and traditional crafts. Our tour culminates in the legendary Djemaa el-Fna Square, the pulsating heart of Moroccan culture and a UNESCO Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage. Here, storytellers, musicians, and performers create an atmosphere found nowhere else on earth. After an included lunch, you have the afternoon at leisure. Whether you wish to further explore the hidden alleys of the Medina, hunt for treasures in the souks, or simply unwind in the tranquility of your hotel’s gardens, the choice is yours. Your guide will offer a wealth of options to experience the city and its surroundings. Embark on an optional thrilling camel ride through the Palmeraie or an adrenaline-filled quad bike excursion across the desert landscape. Or unwind with a traditional Moroccan Hammam (Arabian bath), the ultimate rejuvenation experience. And as an optional evening experience, indulge in an Arabian Nights fantasy with a traditional dinner accompanied by a spectacular equestrian show, featuring belly dancers, daring performers, and fireworks. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 6. (Friday) MARRAKECH – RABAT
After breakfast, we travel north to Rabat, the diplomatic and administrative capital of Morocco and the official residence of King Mohammed VI. Accompanied by an expert local guide, we begin our guided tour of Rabat by admiring the grand exterior of the Royal Palace (Dar al-Makhzen), a symbol of the nation’s political heritage. We then visit the Esplanade of Yacoub al-Mansour to behold the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a masterpiece of Alaouite architecture distinguished by its brilliant white silhouette and iconic green-tiled roof. Directly opposite, we stand before the Hassan Tower, an ancient, unfinished minaret that has endured through the centuries to become the city’s most recognizable landmark. Following this, we enjoy free time for lunch and an afternoon self exploration of the Kasbah of the Udayas. Perched at the mouth of the Bou Regreg River, this impressive fortress offers a serene atmosphere with its narrow, blue-and-white washed streets and panoramic views of the Atlantic coastline. It is the perfect place to experience the quieter, more tranquil side of Morocco’s imperial cities. Dinner and overnight stay in Rabat.
Day 7. (Saturday) RABAT – TANGIER – COSTA DEL SOL
After enjoying a final Moroccan breakfast, we journey north to Tangier, the legendary Gateway to the Strait of Gibraltar. Historically coveted by countless civilizations for its strategic command over the waters between Europe and Africa, Tangier remains a vibrant, cosmopolitan city of immense historical intrigue. Upon arrival at the port, we board the ferry for our crossing across the Strait of Gibraltar, an iconic voyage that serves as the bridge between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. Once back on Spanish soil, we travel along the sun-drenched Costa del Sol. Drop off at the selected destination and end of the services.
