Day 1. (Saturday) MADRID – COSTA DEL SOL
Your journey begins at Madrid-Atocha Station, where you board the high-speed AVE train for a swift and seamless journey to the sun-drenched Mediterranean coast. Relax in the comfort of Spain’s premier rail service as the landscapes of Castile and Andalusia fly by at up to 190 mph. Upon arrival in Malaga, the vibrant capital of the Costa del Sol, you will transfer to your hotel and enjoy a free afternoon to explore the hometown of world-renowned artist Pablo Picasso and Hollywood star Antonio Banderas. We recommend a stroll through the historic quarter to discover the Alcazaba, one of the most impressive Arab fortresses in Andalusia, and the Gibralfaro Castle, which offers breathtaking panoramic views over the Mediterranean. Don’t miss the Picasso Museum or the magnificent Renaissance Cathedral of Malaga, affectionately known as La Manquita (the one-armed lady) due to its unique unfinished tower. Whether you choose to walk the elegant Calle Larios or relax by the harbor, Málaga provides the perfect, sophisticated start to your Moroccan odyssey. Overnight in Malaga.
Day 2. (Sunday) COSTA DEL SOL – TANGIER
Today we’ll have to get up early, as a long but exciting day awaits us. We begin our trans-continental journey to Morocco with a scenic drive along the picturesque Costa del Sol, passing through the internationally renowned hubs of Marbella and Puerto Banús, where luxury yachts and Mediterranean elegance set the stage for our journey. We arrive at the southern tip of Europe. At the port of Tarifa or Algeciras, you will board a ferry for a scenic crossing of the Strait of Gibraltar. Feel the anticipation build as the silhouette of Africa rises from the Mediterranean horizon. Upon arrival, you will meet our local guide. We will embark on a beautiful excursion to Cape Spartel, the northwesternmost point of Africa, the exact spot where the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea meet the deep blue of the Atlantic Ocean. Free time to admire this stunning location and photograph the imposing lighthouse, built in the mid-19th century, the first in the Moroccan coastal maritime signaling network. A short distance away, we’ll find the Caves of Hercules, breathtaking natural caves where, according to legend, the mythological hero rested after separating Europe from Africa. You’ll have free time to admire the site and, if you wish, enter the caves to see the famous Gate of Africa, an opening in the rock whose shape resembles an inverted map of the African continent, with the sea crashing inside. We will return to Tangier, the city that has inspired artists, spies, and writers for decades. You will have the afternoon free to immerse yourself in its cosmopolitan atmosphere. We recommend strolling through the Kasbah of Tangier, exploring its blue and white-painted alleyways and its souks. Here, our senses are heightened: sounds, smells, and narrow streets that transport us back in time. Deepen your discovery of Northern Morocco with an optional excursion to Asilah, home to one of the country’s most pristine and artistic medinas. Wander through its remarkably clean, whitewashed streets and admire the vibrant artistic murals that define this coastal gem. The highlight of the visit is the breathtaking sunset from the Krikia Viewpoint, offering unmatched views of the Atlantic. After soaking in the coastal tranquility, we return to Tangier for dinner and accommodation at your hotel.
Day 3. (Monday) TANGIER – TETOUAN – CHAOUEN – TANGIER
After breakfast, we depart for Tetouan, the most authentic city in Northern Morocco, famously known as the White Dove. Our guided tour of Tetouan explores the city’s unique Spanish-Moorish heritage, visiting Moullay El Mehdi Square and the historic Spanish district leading to Hassan II Square, home to the majestic Royal Palace. We will continue through the historic La Luneta neighborhood and the traditional Jewish Quarter. The highlight of the morning is a walk through the Medina of Tetouan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This jewel of Muslim culture is a labyrinth of winding streets, charming squares, and narrow alleyways that reveal hidden architectural treasures at every turn, concluding at the iconic Bab Okla (the Queen’s Gate). Following a break for lunch (not included), we journey to Chefchaouen, a serene Blue City that feels world-away from the modern pace. Perched at 2,100 feet above sea level, this charming mountain retreat offers crisp, fresh air and a tranquil atmosphere where the only traffic is the rhythmic sound of the local bazaars. The city is a visual masterpiece, where the dazzling blue-washed houses contrast with the vibrant colors of artisan shops and spice-filled souks. You will have free time at your disposal to lose yourself in its most iconic corners: the labyrinthine Old Medina, the historic Kebir Mosque, and the formidable Alcazaba Fortress. Visit the historic Mellah (the ancient Jewish quarter) or simply soak in the atmosphere at Uta el-Hammam Square, a bustling heart of the city lined with inviting cafés and traditional restaurants. As the golden hour approaches, we return to Tangier for dinner and your overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4. (Tuesday) TANGIER – COSTA DEL SOL
After breakfast, enjoy a free morning for last-minute shopping or a final stroll through the cosmopolitan streets of Tangier. If you are looking to deepen your Moroccan experience, your local guide offers an optional excursion to Larache. This picturesque Atlantic port city, nestled on the banks of the Lucus River estuary, is famous for its bright white houses and traditional blue woodwork, a true hidden gem of the coast. In the afternoon, we return to the port of Tangier to board the ferry across the Strait of Gibraltar to Tarifa. From there, we enjoy a scenic drive along the Mediterranean coast toward Malaga. Upon arrival, take advantage of your free time to immerse yourself in local life. We highly recommend exploring the city’s vibrant culinary scene with an evening of Tapa-hopping. This is the quintessential way to experience Andalusian culture, allowing you to savor a variety of exquisite local dishes and seasonal products in the city’s historic bars and taverns. An unforgettable end to your journey before your final night of accommodation.
Day 5. (Wednesday) MALAGA – MADRID
On your final morning in Andalusia, take the opportunity to savor the relaxed Mediterranean pace of Málaga. Whether you choose to visit the Roman Theatre, climb the walls of the Alcazaba for a final sea view, or browse the elegant boutiques of Calle Larios for last-minute souvenirs and artisanal crafts, the city offers a perfect farewell. At the appointed hour, you will make your own way to the María Zambrano Station to board the high-speed AVE train for your return to the Spanish capital. Settle into the spacious comfort of your seat and enjoy a sophisticated travel experience. As the train glides silently through the rugged landscapes of the Antequera mountains and the vast, silver-green olive groves of Andalusia, you can watch the scenery transform into the golden plains of Castile at speeds of up to 190 mph. Your journey concludes upon arrival at Madrid-Atocha Station. End of our services.
