Itinerary of the great route of Morocco:
Day 1. (Friday) SEVILLE – TANGIER – RABAT – CASABLANCA
We begin our trans-continental journey to Morocco early in the morning, as a long but exciting day awaits us. Departure from Seville southbound heading to the Mediterranean Coast. We arrive at the southern tip of Europe. At the port of Tarifa or Algeciras, you will board a ferry for a scenic crossing of the Strait of Gibraltar. Feel the anticipation build as the silhouette of Africa rises from the Mediterranean horizon. Upon arrival in Tangier, our seamless logistics continue as we clear customs and board our modern coach, tracing the Atlantic coastline toward Rabat, the elegant diplomatic capital of Morocco. During our guided tour of Rabat, you will experience the regal atmosphere of the Royal Palace (Dar al-Makhzen), the official residence of King Mohammed VI. Our exploration reveals the city’s architectural soul, starting with the Koutoubia Minaret, the legendary 12th-century twin sister of Seville’s Giralda. We continue to the Bahia Palace, an opulent masterpiece of Moroccan design and one of the city’s most eye-popping sights. The journey intensifies as we immerse ourselves in the labyrinthine Medina and its vibrant souks, where traditional artisans and exotic scents create a true sensory feast. Our morning concludes at the world-famous Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, the beating heart of Morocco and a UNESCO Masterpiece where storytellers, snake charmers, and musicians bring ancient traditions to life. Leaving the bustle of the city behind, we journey toward the profound tranquility of nature. Our route traces the majestic Ziz Valley, a lush corridor of emerald palm groves and hidden oases that contrasts beautifully with the rugged cliffs of the Atlas. As we ascend into the Middle Atlas Mountains, our first stop is the peaceful mountain town of Midelt. Known as the apple capital of Morocco, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and a refreshing, crisp atmosphere, the perfect setting for a relaxed lunch break. Our first stop is Chefchaouen, the world-famous Blue City nestled in the heart of the Rif Mountains. Situated at 2.165 ft. above sea level, this charming town offers a refreshing atmosphere and a peaceful escape from the bustling imperial cities. You will have free time to explore Chefchaouen‘s enchanting blue-washed streets, where every corner presents a new palette of dazzling azure and cobalt hues. Wander through the Old Medina, discover the historic Alcazaba Fortress, or simply soak in the atmosphere of Uta el-Hamman Square, a vibrant meeting point surrounded by traditional cafés and artisan shops. At the appointed hour, we head to the port to board the ferry for our crossing of the legendary Strait of Gibraltar.
