Day 1. (Sunday) COSTA DEL SOL – TANGIER
Multiple Departure Points: Start your journey to the North of Africa from your local area. We begin our trans-continental journey to Morocco early in the morning, with a scenic drive along the picturesque Costa del Sol, passing through the internationally renowned hubs of Marbella and Puerto Banús, where luxury yachts and Mediterranean elegance set the stage for our journey. We arrive at the southern tip of Europe. At the port of Tarifa or Algeciras, you will board a ferry for a scenic crossing of the Strait of Gibraltar. Feel the anticipation build as the silhouette of Africa rises from the Mediterranean horizon. Upon arrival, you will meet our local guide. We will embark on a beautiful excursion to Cape Spartel, the northwesternmost point of Africa, the exact spot where the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea meet the deep blue of the Atlantic Ocean. Free time to admire this stunning location and photograph the imposing lighthouse, built in the mid-19th century, the first in the Moroccan coastal maritime signaling network. A short distance away, we’ll find the Caves of Hercules, breathtaking natural caves where, according to legend, the mythological hero rested after separating Europe from Africa. You’ll have free time to admire the site and, if you wish, enter the caves to see the famous Gate of Africa, an opening in the rock whose shape resembles an inverted map of the African continent, with the sea crashing inside. We will return to Tangier, the city that has inspired artists, spies, and writers for decades. You will have the afternoon free to immerse yourself in its cosmopolitan atmosphere. We recommend strolling through the Kasbah of Tangier, exploring its blue and white-painted alleyways and its souks. Here, our senses are heightened: sounds, smells, and narrow streets that transport us back in time. Deepen your discovery of Northern Morocco with an optional excursion to Asilah, home to one of the country’s most pristine and artistic medinas. Wander through its remarkably clean, whitewashed streets and admire the vibrant artistic murals that define this coastal gem. The highlight of the visit is the breathtaking sunset from the Krikia Viewpoint, offering unmatched views of the Atlantic. After soaking in the coastal tranquility, we return to Tangier for dinner and accommodation at your hotel.
Day 2. (Monday) TANGIER – VOLUBILIS – MEKNES – FEZ
After a traditional Moroccan breakfast, we journey south through the ancient lands of Mauretania Tingitana, once one of the most exotic provinces of the Roman Empire. Our first destination is Volubilis (Walili), a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most significant Roman archaeological centers in North Africa. We will stroll along the Decumanus Maximus, the city’s ancient main thoroughfare, to admire the monumental Tangier Gate, the grand Triumphal Arch of Marcus Aurelius, and the remarkably preserved mosaics adorning the floors of its noble villas. Our route continues to the Imperial City of Meknes, a 17th-century marvel nestled in the Middle Atlas Mountains and shielded by 40 km of defensive walls. During our panoramic tour of Meknes, we will witness the breathtaking Bab Al Mansour, widely celebrated as the most beautiful gate in all of Morocco and the majestic entrance to the old city. Finally, we travel toward Fez, the oldest of the four Imperial Cities and the spiritual heart of the kingdom. Often compared to Jerusalem for its ancient, walled atmosphere and labyrinthine streets, Fez offers a step back into medieval history. Dinner and accommodation in Fez.
Day 3. (Tuesday) FEZ
After breakfast, we embark on a comprehensive monumental tour of Fez, the oldest of the Imperial Cities. Our exploration begins with the seven golden gates of the Royal Palace and the historic Mellah (Jewish Quarter). We then enter the soul of the city through the iconic Bab Bou Jeloud gate, the gateway to the world-famous Fez el-Bali Medina. Accompanied by our local English-speaking guide, we will navigate a labyrinth of over 9,000 winding streets, the largest and best-preserved medieval city in the Arab world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During our walk, we will visit the ancient tanneries, where traditional techniques remain unchanged for centuries, and admire the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University, recognized as the oldest degree-granting university in the world. Following lunch at the hotel, the afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure. If you are looking for what to do in Fez, we suggest getting lost in the sensory delights of its souks, where artisans create intricate crafts. In the evening, you will have the optional opportunity to enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and folklore show in a local palace. Accommodation in Fez.
Day 4. (Wednesday) FEZ – CHAOUEN – TETOUAN
After breakfast, we depart for the lush landscapes of Northern Morocco, heading into the heart of the mythical Rif Mountains. Nestled at the foot of these dramatic peaks lies Chefchaouen, a serene Blue City that feels world-away from the modern pace. Perched at 2,100 feet above sea level, this charming mountain retreat offers crisp, fresh air and a tranquil atmosphere where the only traffic is the rhythmic sound of the local bazaars. The city is a visual masterpiece, where the dazzling blue-washed houses contrast with the vibrant colors of artisan shops and spice-filled souks. You will have free time at your disposal to lose yourself in its most iconic corners: the labyrinthine Old Medina, the historic Kebir Mosque, and the formidable Alcazaba Fortress. Visit the historic Mellah (the ancient Jewish quarter) or simply soak in the atmosphere at Uta el-Hammam Square, a bustling heart of the city lined with inviting cafés and traditional restaurants. As the golden hour approaches, we continue our journey to the White Dove of Morocco, the city of Tetouan. Upon arrival, check into your hotel for dinner and a restful overnight stay.
Day 5. (Thursday) TETOUAN – TANGIER – COSTA DEL SOL
After breakfast, we join an expert local guide to explore Tetouan, widely regarded as the most authentic city in Northern Morocco. Affectionately known as The White Dove for its dazzling lime-washed architecture, Tetouan offers a unique blend of Hispano-Moorish heritage. Our guided exploration of Tetouan takes us through the historic Moullay El Mehdi Square and the elegant Spanish colonial district, leading to the grand Hassan II Square, home to the majestic Royal Palace. We continue through the atmospheric neighborhood of La Luneta and the historic Jewish Quarter, a testament to the city’s multicultural soul. The highlight of our visit is a walk through the Medina of Tetouan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This true jewel of Muslim culture will captivate you with its winding streets, hidden squares, and ornate gateways, culminating at the iconic Bab Okla (the Queen’s Gate). Enjoy some free time to lose yourself in the city’s artisanal markets for last-minute treasures. Later, we travel to Tangier to board the ferry back across the legendary Strait of Gibraltar, an iconic voyage that serves as the bridge between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. Once back on Spanish soil, we travel along the sun-drenched Costa del Sol. Drop off at the selected destination and end of the services.
