Information about destination:

Segovia and Toledo are two of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Spain and have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites.  Their history is extensive … Celts, Romans, Visigoths, Muslims and the Christian Kings all left their footprints behind in these two amazing cities.

Segovia is the city where the Catholic Queen Isabella was crowned in 1474.  The Cathedral of Segovia is a construction of impressive beauty.  It was built in late Gothic style and has an impressive Renaissance bell tower 88 meters high.

The Alcazar of Segovia is one of the most distinctive castle-palaces in the whole of Spain (and was one of the inspirations for Walt Disney’s Cinderella Castle).  Its origins were as a Roman and then Arab fort and in the Middle Ages it was one of the favourite residences of the monarchs of Castile.

The Aqueduct of Segovia, one of the most impressive aqueducts in history, runs through the city.  It’s a legacy of the Roman era and is one of the most significant and best-preserved ancient monuments in the region.

Toledo, the imperial city of Charles I, is a traditional steel making centre and is world-famous for its swords.  Its legendary past is clearly visible today; it’s a city of impressive monuments and medieval souvenirs.   Painters seeking inspiration looked to Toledo.  Toledo Cathedral is a beautiful 13th century high gothic Cathedral constructed from white limestone.
