Information about destination:

Take 6 days to discover the essence of the authentic Barcelona and its most impressive tourist places, guided by a team of professionals.

Barcelona offers visitors the possibility of walking from the Roman ruins and the medieval city to the neighborhoods of Catalan modernism, with its characteristic buildings, its square blocks with sectioned edges, its tree-lined streets and its wide avenues.

One of the most attractive places in the city are Las Ramblas, a promenade that runs between Plaza de Catalunya, the nerve center of the city, and the old port, where the famous statue of Christopher Columbus points with his arm not towards the continent that discovered in 1492, but in the opposite direction, towards Genoa, where it is believed that he may have been born.

In the historic center, very close to Las Ramblas, we can find the Cathedral of Barcelona, the Plaza Sant Jaume which houses the buildings of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Barcelona City Council, and the narrow but lively streets of both the Gothic Quarter and the Raval and Born.

Barcelona is known as the capital of Modernism. The city, in which the architect Antoni Gaudi lived and worked, has the most relevant of his works. The most representative is the temple of the Sagrada Familia, which Gaudi left unfinished and which is still being built in the same way as cathedrals in the Middle Ages, with donations and private contributions, in addition to the income from the tickets, which they have converted the Sagrada Familia in the most visited monument in Spain. Other of Gaudi’s best-known works are Park Güell, Casa Mila, also known as “La Pedrera”, and Casa Batlló.

Barcelona is undoubtedly the most cosmopolitan and economically most active city in Spain. Learn more about it with Pepe Tours.
